No 16 Cross Street, Abergavenny

Our shop is in Abergavenny – plump in the middle of Monmouthshire.

Nestled in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, Abergavenny is a very special market town, surrounded by mountains, and poised above the river Usk. Known to many as the Gateway to Wales, it boasts fabulous eateries, the best bakery we know and a heap of wonderful places to stay.

Abergavenny is a hop skip and a jump from the M4. It is reachable by rail from the South via Newport and the North via Hereford.

How to Find Us

By Train

Abergavenny has a mainline railway station, about 10-15 minutes walk from our shop.

Coming from London and Cardiff you would change at Newport, and from the North you might change at Hereford.

Taxis can generally be found at the station.

By Car

From the M4 you should exit at Junction 24 and take the A449 North towards Monmouth and Abergavenny. From the M5, exit at Junction 8 and take the M50 to Ross, continuing on the A40 past Monmouth.

Exit the A40 on the (confusing!) A40 Ramp towards Abergavenny and take the third exit at the Raglan Roundabout continuing on the A40 toward Abergavenny.

At the next roundabout continue to follow the signs for Abergavenny, taking the third exit. You will drive into town, passing signs to the station on your right.

In Abergavenny

As you come up the main street (Cross Street) into Abergavenny you come to a junction – we sit on the bottom left corner of this junction, adjacent to the Angel Hotel and diagonally across from the Angel Bakery.

You can turn left into the narrow lane between our shop and the hotel. At the top of the narrow lane you will turn right and immediately find the car park entrance on your left.

Timing

Much depends on the M4 traffic, the vagaries of the Great Western Railway and Transport for Wales, but we are approximately an hour from Bath and three hours from London.
