A Tailored Cut waistcoat in a deep green merino melton by AW Hainsworth – a superbly elegant and sober colour in a sumptuously soft pure merino wool flannel. A warmer weight textile, this fabric has a magnificent handle and a bright rich colouring. 

This outer is available to order in sizes 36" to 54", with any of our collar types.

Cut & Usage

A superb and wonderfully warm alternative to a jacket for autumn winter with a neat cut and ample pocket space.

This fitted cut waistcoat has five button-fronts and side vents for ease when moving and sitting. Fully lined, it has generous inside facings to avoid unsightly lining slippage.

At the chest a welted outbreast pocket sits at a gentle angle to the armhole. Two generously deep pockets sit squarely at the hip. Inside our waistcoats, an inbreast pocket rests on the right-hand side and a credit card sized pocket at elbow height on the left. 

Customising your Waistcoat

Our Merino Melton waistcoats are lined in ticking as standard. Alternatively, we would suggest a Bottle Green Viscose or a silk in Hazel. 

A viscose lining will add £10 to the listed price, a silk lining will add £30.

Outside we suggest a Flat Horn for this outer, as shown in the pictures.

The Maker

This outer has been woven carefully in Yorkshire by the wonderful AW Hainsworth who have been busy weaving cloth since 1783. Best known (perhaps) for clothing royalty and dressing the military for full-dress ceremonial occasions, their cloth has embellished and enriched the furnishings of palaces across the world for centuries.
